Reminders
1. Numbers allowed to audition:
- Sop. I, Sop II, Alto I, Alto II, Bass I, Bass II- 3 per part
- Tenor I and II- Unlimited but caution to send only qualified district calibre tenors
- All students must be in grades 10, 11, and 12
2. Piano accompanist auditions will be held the same day as choral auditions.
3. All directors will be required to be in attendance the entire day and at the postaudition meeting on the day of district choral/piano auditions.
4. Please note that all deadlines need to be met without exception. Late registrations will be accompanied with a late registration charge of $20.00 per student in addition to the normal fees. Be sure all registration fees arrive on time. YOUR STUDENTS WILL NOT AUDITION IF THESE FEES ARE NOT PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE AUDITION.
5. There is no advantage to registering early. Don’t register until you are sure of student voice parts!!
6. DO NOT REGISTER MORE THAN ONCE! DO NOT REGISTER MORE THAN ONCE! DO NOT REGISTER MORE THAN ONCE!
If you forgot to register a student, CALL THE AUDITION CHAIR WITH THE INFORMATION and the student will be registered for you. DO NOT ADD A STUDENT BY REGISTERING MORE THAN ONCE.
7. When registering, please take the time to confirm that all information is being entered without error, especially e-mail addresses and phone numbers.
8. Please inform the tech person in your school district that you need to be allowed to receive mail from pmeachoral@acschools.org
9. NOTE: Director assignments and final student audition lists, etc. will be e-mailed the week before auditions. Since some of your district SPAM filters will not allow this information to be delivered, this information will also be posted on the District 7 website
10. Student evaluation sheets will be available for directors to retrieve for FINALS ONLY. This is due to the change in format for judging preliminary auditions. It is your choice as a director as to whether you pick these forms up for your students.
11. Any evaluation forms left behind the day of auditions will be immediately discarded.
12. It is your responsiblity as a director to check prelim and finals scores for your students before leaving auditions. No changes will be made after the close of auditions Saturday.

MENC/PMEA Membership
All choral directors must be members in good standing of MENC/PMEA in order for their students to audition in October. Each member must have a current membership card. Identification number and expiration date must be listed on the registration form.

Registration Information
1. All registrations must be submitted on line by 11:59PM on October 10, 2008. All fees for auditions should be sent to the PMEA District 7 Treasurer, Mr. Robert Rhine, and must be received by Oct. 17, 2008. If registration fees are not received by this date but students were registered, the directors' school principal will be notified. This action was taken by the Executive Committee. ALL FEES SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO PMEA.
Participation Fee: $25.00 per school district
Registration Fee: $ 5.00 per student
No student will audition if fees are not paid. Registration fees paid for students that do not audition will not be returned.

A.Sop. I, Sop. II, Alto I, Alto II, Bass I, Bass II- 3 per section.
B. In addition, you may send unlimited, DISTRICT QUALITY tenors per section.
C. Auditions are for students in grades 10-11-12 only3. All students must be available for the entire day of auditions. There are no early auditions scheduled. Students who get in line and audition first for finals will be finished earliest.
4. ALL DIRECTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE ENTIRE DAY OF AUDITIONS. All Directors must be in attendance at the director’s meeting to be held at the end of auditions. In the event of an unusual circumstance in which the director cannot be present, another PMEA member in good standing may be substituted only if given permission by the District 7 President Mr. Eric Dundore.
5. Each student must be a member of their respective school choral organization in order to be eligible for auditions.
6. The only official music list is the one posted on this webpage. It is your responsibility to make sure you have the correct edition and publisher of the music used.
7. Additional judges are always needed. Qualifications to serve as a tryout judge include:
A. Active membership in MENC/PMEA (student teachers excluded)
B. Availability for the entire auditionIf an additional judge(s) is coming from your school, please inform the audition chairman by the close of registrations so that person can be included in the original judging assignments list.
8. If a director has a son or daughter auditioning, please contact the audition chairman so the director can be assigned to a different voice part.

Other Items
1. Equal Representation- Schools are eligible for equal representation if they did not place a student in District Chorus. Directors must request the Equal Representation by 12:00noon on the Friday following the choral audition date.
2. Choral Audition Recordings- Choral audition recordings are available on CD and midi files. These accompaniment recordings are used for the actual choral audition. They are available from Alan Mudrick, District #7 Audition Recording Chairman. Information for ordering a CD can be found here.
3. Piano Accompanist Auditions will be held Saturday, October 25, the same day as choral auditions. Both will be held at Central York High School. Students auditioning should be in grades 10-12 and must be registered at the time of Choral Registrations.
4. In "When I Fall in Love":
- Follow normal designations for Tenor and Bass parts
- Measure 100-end - Tenor I and II sing the single tenor line to the end.
5. In "J'entends le moulin"
- Measure 93 All parts observe new key on beat one
**NOTE- Because there is already much question about this section, and after consultation with the district President, we have decided to announce to all members that measures 89-94 will NOT be an audition spot.
8. Contacting the Choral Tryout Chairman:
- Measures 150-165- Although the guest conductor will most assuredly assign Sop and Alto specific parts for performance, all women should be prepared to sing or chant as directed for the audition.
