Rodney S. Miller Distinguished Service Award
*The PMEA District 7 Distinguished Service Award was officially changed to the Rodney S. Miller Distinguished Service Award on October 10, 2005.

 

PURPOSE

To recognize and honor any retired music educator in PMEA District 7 who has demonstrated a long term commitment to music education and exemplary service to PMEA on a local and/or state level.

 

ELIGIBILITY

Any retired member in District 7 is eligible for the award upon their nomination by a PMEA member.

 

NOMINATIONS

Nominations may be submitted to the District 7 President at any time. Upon receiving the nomination for the award, the District 7 President will present the nomination to the District 7 Officers and C/I Committee at the next scheduled meeting for consideration of the nomination.

 

FREQUENCY OF AWARD

The award will be presented to any deserving retired music educator upon the nomination of the candidate by a PMEA member and the recommendation and approval of the District 7 Officers and C/I Committee. There will be no limit on the frequency of presenting the award not the number of approved award recipients in a given time period.

 

PRESENTATION

Whenever possible, the award will be presented to the recipient by a District 7 Officer or C/l Committee member at a public gathering, preferably a PMEA District 7 event.
