Dear String Teachers,

Jill Marzolf here -- hope that you are having a good school year. I teach the 4th-6th grade orchestra program in the Gettysburg Area School District and am hosting this year's StringFest.

1. WHEN? Saturday, April 12, 2008. Rehearsals will take place during the day concluding with a 3:00 free concert that is open to the public.
2. WHERE? Gettysburg Area High School on Old Harrisburg Road, G-burg
3. COST: $25.00 per student (this will cover music purchase, hiring conductors, medical supervision, snacks, lunch, etc.)
4. CONDUCTORS:  Mrs. Krista Kriel (7th-12th grade orchestra director, Gettysburg) and Mrs. Shirley Miller (retired orchestra director, Cumberland Valley School District)

TIMELINE:

1. NEXT FRIDAY, NOV. 2nd: If you are interested in bringing students to StringFest, just let me know via email by Friday, Nov. 2nd. I will then send you forms to nominate the students.
2. NOV. 30th: Nomination forms will be due.
3. EARLY TO MID-JANUARY: Music, student medical forms and further info will be mailed out.

I certainly hope that you can join us here in Gettysburg on April 12th. Please feel free to forward this email to others, and send me names (and emails?) of any 5th-6th grade string teachers whose names I missed. Thanks.
